Upcoming Enhancements for Employer Executive Contacts

The ASRS made a small change to the Employer Contacts page last winter to add a new type of employer contact. The purpose of this change is to enable you to add contact information for your executives, which will assist the ASRS as we try to ensure your executive staff receives important and relevant communication from the ASRS.

On August 27, 2019, SB1018 redefined what ASRS compensation is for members that join the ASRS effective January 1, 2020 going forward.

A New State Social Security Administrator!

Arizona has a new State Social Security Administrator!

In 2018, legislation passed that allowed the Governor to designate a state agency to serve as the Social Security Administrator.  Prior to that legislative change, the ASRS had been designated and served as the Social Security Administrator.

2019 ASRS Legislation Relevant to Employers

The Arizona Legislature adjourned its regular session on May 28, 2019.  Several bills passed which affect the ASRS and its employers and members.  The general effective date for these bills is August 27, 2019.
