It is essential that all member deaths be reported to the Arizona State Retirement System and/or Broadspire as soon as the information becomes available. If a family member or other individual contacts your facility to report the death of a Long-Term Disability (LTD) member, please ensure that this information is promptly forwarded to Broadspire and/or the ASRS for appropriate action. Timely notification is critical to ensure that benefit payments are discontinued when appropriate. Failure to report a member’s death may result in continued payments for which the member is no longer eligible, potentially creating an overpayment that may need to be recovered.
