First Time Registering and Resetting Passwords for Employer Web Users

The most common issue employer web contact the ASRS about when registering or resetting their password is “My employer’s name is not in the drop-down list. What do I do?”

When using the emailed registration link when first added as a user or using the “Having Trouble Logging In?” link on the Employer Login and Registration Page, you will be asked to enter your first name, last name, email, phone number, and login ID. If this information does not match what your administrator entered when they added you as a new user, you will not see your employer’s name in the drop-down list.

It is important to note that if you are asked to provide your mobile number or the last 4 digits of your social security number, then you are not on the Employer Login and Registration Page, as that information is only used for Member web users. If you are on the Member Login and Online Registration page, you should see a link to the Employer Login and Registration Page located at the bottom of screen, which will take you to the correct page.

If you follow the proper links through the Employer Login and Registration page, but do not see your employer’s name in the drop-down list when you reach step 3, you should consult with any ASRS web user at your employer with employer administrator privileges. Web users with the administrator role can click on the “Maintain Employer Users” link found under Other Operations and then click on the Login ID that you are associated with to view the correct information used for registering or resetting passwords. Using the matching information will allow your employer’s name to appear in the drop-down menu.

Once you have selected the correct employer from the drop-down list, you will then continue to the next step, and have a button to send an unlock code or cancel, and once sent, it can sometimes take up to 15 minutes to receive. After entering the unlock code, you will be able to create and then confirm a new password. After you have created your new password, you should immediately try logging in with your new password to make sure that it works and there are no other account issues.

If you reset the password and are still having trouble logging in, you may go through the password reset process and try again. Entering the wrong password too many times will cause an account to get locked and will require assistance from ASRS to unlock the account.

If your administrator is unavailable to provide the matching profile information, you may request assistance from ASRS by having another registered web user send a secure message with your details, including your contact number. You may also call our member advisory center at 602-240-2000 and request to speak with someone who can help access employer web user accounts, or you may send an email to [email protected] requesting assistance. When sending an email, please be sure to include your first name, last name, employer’s name, and the best phone number and times to reach you.
