Almost Here! The New Premium Benefit Portal Launches in Early August

The Wait is Almost Over!

After months of planning, development, testing, and collaboration, the new ASRS Premium Benefit Employer Portal is expected to launch in early August, bringing employers a faster, easier, and more transparent way to manage Premium Benefit transactions online.

If you've been wondering what has been happening since ASRS stopped accepting paper Premium Benefit forms on July 10, you're not alone. We appreciate your patience during this important transition, and we're excited to share what's coming next.

Why the Temporary Pause?

To ensure a successful transition, ASRS needed time to:

• Process all paper forms received by the July 10 deadline.

• Complete final reviews and approvals.

• Prepare and validate data for migration into the new portal.

• Test the new system and ensure employers have the most accurate information when they log in.

While we understand that pauses in processing can create uncertainty, this brief transition period is helping us build a more efficient experience for everyone.

What Happens Next?

Early August: The Portal Goes Live

Once the Premium Benefit Portal becomes available, employers will be able to complete many of the tasks that previously required paper forms all from within the secure ASRS Employer Portal.

You'll be able to:

• Submit new Premium Benefit applications.

• Report changes and updates.

• Submit terminations.

• Track the status of your requests.

• Receive system notifications and communications.

• Benefit from built-in validations designed to reduce errors before submission.

Our goal is to make the process simpler, faster, and more transparent while reducing paperwork and improving communication every step of the way.

Missed the July 10 Deadline?

No problem!

If your Premium Benefit request was submitted after the paper form deadline, you'll simply submit it through the new portal once it becomes available.

This temporary pause does not change member eligibility for the Premium Benefit.

If a request is not processed in time for a monthly Premium Benefit payroll, any approved payment will continue to be paid retroactively to the member's eligible effective date, just as it is today. Our priority is ensuring members receive the benefits they are entitled to while giving employers the tools they need to submit transactions efficiently.

Learning Something New Together

Launching a new online application is an exciting step forward, and we recognize there may be a learning curve during the first few months.
