Benefit Payments Information
The ASRS offers retirees two options to receive monthly benefit payments: Direct Deposit into your personal account, or a prepaid re-loadable ASRS Benefit Card.
The ASRS strongly encourages retirees to use electronic direct deposit for payment of your monthly ASRS benefit. It's a safe, secure and efficient way to receive your benefit each month. New retirees can provide their banking information with their retirement application to affect a smooth transition of benefit payments. Current retirees may also set up direct deposit, or change their direct deposit, at any time.

ASRS Benefit Card
Beginning May 2011, the Arizona State Retirement System no longer issues monthly benefit payments with paper checks. Instead, for those who do not use Direct Deposit, benefits are paid to a debit-type plastic card, which will be loaded each month with your benefit payment.
The ASRS Benefit Card is issued through Bank of America. To learn more about the ASRS Benefit Card program, please view our Frequently Asked Questions.
