As an ASRS retiree, you have access to additional benefits at no cost to you. These programs enhance the value of your medical insurance plan and provide the opportunity to enrich your health care with free services and products at a group discount.

Wellcard

Every penny saved helps now that you’re retired, so take advantage of this no-cost discount card for health care related services, prescriptions and products. Not only is it free, but it is also available to anyone in your household. This isn’t insurance, but a discount program available for times when insurance doesn’t pay for a service or prescription.

Hearing loss is the third most common chronic condition. Get your hearing tested, and order your hearing aids by phone, in-person or online. You have an exclusive member discount on digital custom-programmed, hearing aids.

Disease and Specialty Case Management

This program targets chronic conditions of key concern to retirees, provides interventions to assist in effectively manage them and bridge the gap between you and your care teams. Included are Integrated Coronary Artery Disease, Diabetes, End Stage Renal Disease, and Transplant Care Management.

Personal Health Management

A comprehensive program of care management services providing guidance and support for retirees diagnosed with complex and/or co-morbid health conditions. This includes phone-based and in-person care management evaluations and transitioning from hospital care to home.

Advanced Illness Care Management

Provides services for those with advanced illness and who are facing end-of-life issues. Services focus on facilitating palliative care, reducing pain and suffering, assisting individuals and families in understanding their goals and preferences for end-of-life care, and providing bereavement services for family members following the individual’s death.

myNurseline

Get immediate telephone access to experienced registered nurses to help you make smart health care decisions and provide personalized information that is right for you. The toll free number is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at no additional cost to you.

Get active with SilverSneakers Fitness. Check out all the ways to use your fitness membership. It’s provided for you by a UnitedHealthcare retiree plan.

Solutions for Caregivers

A comprehensive eldercare management program designed to support retirees and family caregivers in remaining healthy, function as independently as possible and to live with dignity. This program also helps caregivers maintain their own health, mitigate stress and maximize available community resources and support. For assistance call 866-896-1865.

Virtual Visit (not included in Senior Supplement)

When you don’t feel well, the last thing you want to do is leave the comfort of home to sit in a waiting room. Now you don’t have to. A virtual visit lets you see and talk to a doctor from your mobile device or computer without an appointment. And, it’s part of your health benefits.

MyAdvocate

UnitedHealthcare knows there are thousands of eligible members who are unaware of and not enrolled in assistance programs that can positively impact your circumstances. MyAdvocate is contracted to help you, at no cost, apply and submit applications for Medicare Savings Programs, Extra Help (Low Income Subsidy) and other community assistance programs. You will need to call 877-218-4967.

For retirees on Group Medicare Advantage only:

HouseCalls

As part of your UnitedHealthcare plan membership, this is designed to support and complement your regular doctor’s care through a visit with a licensed health care practitioner to your home. They will help you understand your current health status and provide information that may help you maintain or improve your health. You can ask questions and go at your own pace – best of all – there is no co-pay for a HouseCalls visit.

UnitedHealth Passport Program

This program is included in your plan and offers coverage for when you travel or live away from home up to nine consecutive months during the year. Within the UnitedHealthcare Passport service area, you simply pay the same copayment or coinsurance as you would at home.
