Did you know you have additional programs to you at no cost? Some are included with UnitedHealthcare medical insurance and some are available to all ASRS retirees to help you stay healthy and save money. 

For All ASRS Retirees

As an ASRS retiree, you have access to additional benefits at no cost to you. These programs enhance the value of your medical insurance plan and provide the opportunity to enrich your health care with free services and products at a group discount. There is no need to enroll in any of the ASRS health insurance plans to be eligible.

Perks Connect

This program is designed to help you save money on travel, dining, entertainment and shopping. Registration is easy and a few clicks away:

Wellcard

Every penny saved helps now that you’re retired, so take advantage of this no-cost discount card for health care related services, prescriptions and products. Not only is it free, but it is also available to anyone in your household. This isn’t insurance, but a discount program available for times when insurance doesn’t pay for a service or prescription.

Real Appeal Weightloss and Healthy Living

Real Appeal is a simple, step-by-step program designed to help get you on track to lasting weight loss without turning your life upside down. It is offered at no cost to ASRS non-Medicare UnitedHealthcare members and their covered dependents. From coaching to customized plans to the Real Appeal Success Kit, Real Appeal can work for you regardless of your weightloss and fitness goals.

Quit For Life Program

As part of the UnitedHealthcare plan, you have a tobacco cessation program available- at no additional cost to you. Quit For Life offers personalized support and a coach is right there for you at your fingertips.

Disease and Specialty Case Management

This program targets chronic conditions of key concern to retirees, provides interventions to assist in effectively manage them and bridge the gap between you and your care teams. Included are Integrated Coronary Artery Disease, Diabetes, End Stage Renal Disease, and Transplant Care Management.

Personal Health Management

A comprehensive program of care management services providing guidance and support for retirees diagnosed with complex and/or co-morbid health conditions. This includes phone-based and in-person care management evaluations and transitioning from hospital care to home.

Advanced Illness Care Management

Provides services for those with advanced illness and who are facing end-of-life issues. Services focus on facilitating palliative care, reducing pain and suffering, assisting individuals and families in understanding their goals and preferences for end-of-life care, and providing bereavement services for family members following the individual’s death.

Hi HealthInnovations

Hearing loss is the third most common chronic condition. Get your hearing tested, and order your hearing aids by phone, in-person or online. You have an exclusive member discount on digital custom-programmed, hearing aids.

SilverSneakers

Get active with SilverSneakers fitness. Helps you stay physically active by providing access to exercise equipment, classes and more at 14,000 fitness locations.  Please note that while the Silver Sneakers website refers to eligibility for those 65+, ASRS has been able to make it available for our non-medicare members as well.  

Renew Rewards

You can earn rewards for taking an active role in your health and wellness by completing certain health care activities.

Virtual Visits

When you don’t feel well, the last thing you want to do is leave the comfort of home to sit in a waiting room. Now you don’t have to. A virtual visit lets you see and talk to a doctor from your mobile device or computer without an appointment. And, it’s part of your health benefits.


For retirees on Group Medicare Advantage HMO and PPO Plan Only:

HouseCalls

As part of your UnitedHealthcare plan membership, this is designed to support and complement your regular doctor’s care through a visit with a licensed health care practitioner to your home. They will help you understand your current health status and provide information that may help you maintain or improve your health. You can ask questions and go at your own pace – best of all – there is no co-pay for a HouseCalls visit.

Solutions for Caregivers

A comprehensive eldercare management program designed to support retirees and family caregivers in remaining healthy, function as independently as possible and to live with dignity. This program also helps caregivers maintain their own health, mitigate stress and maximize available community resources and support. For assistance call 866-896-1865.

UnitedHealth Passport Program

This program is included in your plan and offers coverage for when you travel or live away from home up to nine consecutive months during the year. Within the UnitedHealthcare Passport service area, you simply pay the same copayment or coinsurance as you would at home.

myNurseline

Get immediate telephone access to experienced registered nurses to help you make smart health care decisions and provide personalized information that is right for you. The toll free number is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at no additional cost to you.
