Avoid delays in processing your retirement!
Many school districts have delayed the final day of school by as many as 6 days this year as a result of the #RedforEd walkout. Please note that, by Arizona statute, you cannot retire until AFTER your final day of work. If you had planned to retire immediately after your school year ended, you now may need to change your retirement date with the ASRS.
Avoid any delays by logging into your secure myASRS account now -- verify your retirement date and, if you need to make a change to your retirement date, send us a Secure Message.
This action must be done within the next few days or your retirement processing could be delayed. Benefits are retroactive to your retirement date, but the first payment could be delayed up to 90 days if changes are not made in a timely manner.
