Retirees: Get Your 1099-R Digitally

Did you know you can log into your myASRS account and sign up to begin receiving your 1099-R electronically? This is the quickest way to receive your tax forms. If you elect this option, you will receive an email notification in January when your tax documents are available online.

When you choose to receive your 1099-R electronically, it helps us reduce our paper use, and eliminates the risk of anything getting lost or delayed in the mail. Additionally, you will receive your 1099-R almost immediately after we post it to your myASRS account instead of potentially waiting weeks for a hard copy to be printed, mailed, and delivered. 

Note: No action is necessary if you wish to continue receiving a paper 1099-R form in the mail. To help ensure correct delivery, please make sure your mailing address is current in your myASRS account.

A Step-by-Step Guide to Your Digital 1099-R:

    1. Go to our website at AzASRS.gov and log into your account using the “myASRS Login” box at the top right-hand side of your screen.
    2. Enter your Login ID and Password
    3. On the left-hand navigation panel, click “1099-R Statements”
    4. Click “I want to receive my 1099-R electronically”
    5. Consent to the change by clicking “I consent”.
    6. From the left-hand navigation panel, select Home Page to return to the Home page or Logout to close out your session.

Important: Changes must be made by December 31, 2021, to receive your 2021 1099-R tax statement electronically.
