Make Sure Your Retiring Employees are Prepared!

To help your employees navigate this important milestone in their career, we offer a variety of different educational options to suit any learning style. The first stop should be Retirement Central, which puts all retirement-related information in one place and provides an excellent overview of options and resources available. Group meetings, webinars, videos, eLearning tutorials, checklists, handbooks and website calculators are also available to help explain various facets of retirement and as well as the process of retiring.

Don't forget: If you have 20 or more employees who want to attend an Informational Session, Route 3, or Route 4 meeting, ASRS will present at your location! Just call the new Member Education Supervisor, Randi Gray, at 602-308-5156 or email at [email protected] to make the necessary arrangements. Please include three possible dates and times for each of the presentations requested. (Note: the contact information for our Member Education Supervisor changed last year, as Randi Gray took over the position. Please make sure you you update your contact information accordingly when reaching out to host a meeting!)

We offer three live presentations:

    • Route 3: Destination in Sight meeting is targeted for members who are within three years of retirement but also has valuable information for all members such as: the pension formula, retirement eligibility, annuity options, can you afford to retire and member responsibilities. Time for Q and A will follow the meeting, but questions can be asked along the way.  Length:  90 mins. (Can be done in 60 mins. if time is limited by holding questions to the end)
    • Route 4: Next Exit Retirement is targeted for members who are retiring within six months.  We will work up a personalized benefit estimate, review the pension formula and annuity options, pension processing timelines, health insurance options, and member responsibilities. Time for Q and A will follow the meeting, but questions can be asked along the way. Length:  90 mins. (Can be done in 60 mins. if time is limited by holding questions to the end)
    • Informational Session:  This is a brief overview of the ASRS benefits - the level of detail provided is based on the time allotted. Length: 15-30 mins.
