Karl Polen named Chief Investment Officer

Karl Polen, head of private markets in the ASRS Investment Division, has been appointed Chief Investment Officer of the ASRS by Director Paul Matson, effective March 1.

“Karl has demonstrated extraordinary talent in all relevant areas of investment management, including real estate, private equity, private debt, asset allocation, research and leadership,” Director Matson said. “With this breadth of experience, I’m confident the ASRS will continue to be a top-tier investment performer.”

Mr. Polen is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive license) and holds a Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois.
